Privacy Policy
We’re no lawyers, so we won’t be “lawyering”. We just want to say, protection of our candidates’ data, and the fact that they are our candidates has always been our No. 1. priority. Apart from this, we’re also against any kind of discrimination, and we do fight it when we have to, even rejecting business opportunities if needed. Also, we don’t do this just because of the GDPR hype, but it’s always been like that, ever since the company was founded. In fact we’re a tad bit more rigorous in this matter. In practice this means:
– If you apply for a general career discussion or a specific job opportunity then the contents of your CV and contacts sent to us will be stored for a maximum of two years and then they get deleted, unless you explicitly want to renew your consent and allow us to keep you on our records for a further two years. Keeping these data in our database serves the purpose of being able to contact you with job opportunities and also for being able to talk about you and your career when we interview you. Based on the information you provide us we will be able to create a profile about you. This enables us to search the right candidates for our clients.
– Your CV sometimes gets printed when you come to us, so that we can make notes on it. Perhaps we can show you a better layout or give you other suggestions about its content. If there is a paper version, it will be shredded within a week in our office. Information received during this discussion (such as your career plans, salary needs etc.) will be stored on our virtual server in the cloud which is only accessible by Mimox employees through our own custom made application tracking system.
– We are not sending your CV or any other document to anyone without your consent. Also, we are not giving any reference about you, so they need to go somewhere else as for the general public we don’t even know you. The only exception is if you yourself gave our contacts to someone else as a reference and that is precisely what you want us to do or if you asked us specifically to call someone and discuss your skills if that helps your professional advancement . Talking about references, when WE ARE checking them, we will not contact a current employer, unless you explicitly wish it so.
– We’re not sending “blind” CV’s to anyone, because that’s just silly. If it’s not blind enough, one can identify the person, and if it’s too obscured it could be just an imagined one, so it’s no sense.
– We are not discriminating people in any way. If we think someone is good for a position we will take up the person as our candidate, irrespective of the person’s age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, hair or skin colour or any of the things one can’t do much about. If we see that a potential client wants us to discriminate, we’d draw their attention to this fact and reject cooperation. (Oh well, it had happened.
– You have the right to be forgotten (nothing new) or you can ask us simply not to contact you for the moment or forever, alternatively you can also ask us to provide you with the data we have of you. Please write an email to forgetme@mimox.com with the subject “Delete Me” or “Don’t Contact Me” or “Please send me my data”. The data we have of you most probably are your name, contact data, CV, work experiences, schools, photo, URL of your LinkedIn profile, maybe your salary information, all in all, these are very private things. We are going to respond within 8 business days.
– Please note that we can’t delete you out of our heads. We just tend to remember the things and people sometimes.
The database is not accessible from outside through the Internet, the data is encrypted, stored in the cloud on MS Azure and only Mimox employees are able to see what’s inside. We also use the cloud for file servers and mail servers using MS O365 and Amazon AWS. We don’t have any local networks or local servers. As for passwords, we have our policies firmly in practice, however we first and foremost trust our great God of Good Old Common Sense. The whole database is only accessible by the general manager of the company who tends to swallow the key, rather than giving it out to anyone. Right, there’s even a self destruction button there in cases of rape, blackmail or other acts of God or the tax office.
If we call you to an interview, it will be confidential, no part of it will ever get to a third party. Nothing will get out, unless you want it. (E.g. your salary request to potential employers. They need to know, right?)
